Our moms have a mutual cousin, Carol. Our babas have a mutual friend, Pearl. And we have a mutual love, Ukrainian dance and culture.
We (Hannah Picklyk and Kaitlin Vitt) grew up outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba, in small towns, and we’d run into each other here and there at dance festivals. We were a friendly face to the other, but our friendship really started in Ukraine, where we lived from September 2017 to June 2018 to study dance, culture, and language.
